The Vitamix E310 is the pared-back high-performance blender in the Explorian series: manual control, 1.4-litre container, made for 1–2-person households.

One motor, one dial, one pulse switch — the entry point into the Explorian series for anyone who wants a reliable blender and prefers to control it themselves. With the 1.4-litre Explorian container, liquid preparations are possible from 250 ml and solid ones from around 400 ml — so smaller quantities such as pesto, hummus or nut butter stay in the right ballpark. The variable speed control gives you full command over every consistency, and the pulse function lets you chop with precision. A 5-year manufacturer's warranty applies for private use.

How to operate it

Three controls, no display, no programs — a tool rather than a gadget. You start the blender with the toggle switch on the right and set the speed with the dial in the middle: variable from 1 to 10, so you can hear and see what is happening. When you need short bursts of power, you hold the pulse switch on the left for as long as you want them. That is all it takes — sometimes less is the best feature.

Vitamix 1.4-litre Explorian container

The narrow 1.4 L container is designed for 1–2 portions and suits the daily morning smoothie, small soups or making nut butter. The vortex works cleanly from as little as 250 ml of liquid; for firmer preparations such as pesto or nut butter you need 400 ml — that way even small quantities reach the blades reliably. The four blade wings draw a concentrated vortex downwards, moving ingredients from the side of the container back to the centre of the blade. This is a Classic container: compatible with all Explorian blenders, but not with the Ascent series.

Who it's for

The E310 is for you if you want a genuine Vitamix — without preset programs, without a touchscreen. A dial and a pulse function, nothing more. You blend 1–2 smoothies in the morning, and the occasional soup or nut milk. The 1.4 L container fits under any standard wall cabinet.

    The Vitamix Explorian E310 uses the Classic mount system. The 1.4 L Classic container is included. Additional compatible containers: the 2.0 L Classic container (tall), the 2.0 L Low-Profile Classic container, and the Aer Disc container Classic. Interlock containers from the Ascent series are not compatible with the Explorian E310.

Hot soups are prepared by blending cold or lukewarm ingredients and heating them through friction — the Vitamix Explorian E310 reaches temperatures of up to 80 °C in approximately 6 minutes at the highest speed setting.
  • Can I grind grains or coffee with the Vitamix Explorian E310?
    Grinding is only partially practical in the included 1.4 L Classic container — it is fitted with wet blades and is not optimized for dry grinding. For regular grinding of grains, coffee, or spices, a dedicated dry-grinding container or the Aer Disc container Classic is recommended.
  • How do I clean the Vitamix Explorian E310?
    Rinse the container with lukewarm water immediately after blending. For fatty ingredients (avocado, nuts, oil): fill the container halfway with lukewarm water, add 1–2 drops of dish soap, run the dial at the highest setting for about 60 seconds, then rinse. The Classic containers are dishwasher-safe; Vitamix recommends hand-washing to protect the Tritan material and blades. Wipe the motor base and rubber mat on top with a damp cloth.
  • Is the container of the Vitamix Explorian E310 dishwasher-safe?
    Yes, the 1.4 L Classic container of the Vitamix Explorian E310 is dishwasher-safe. However, Vitamix recommends hand-washing to protect the Tritan material and the blade assembly from long-term wear. The lid and lid plug are also hand-wash only.
  • What safety guidelines apply to the Vitamix Explorian E310?
    The Vitamix Explorian E310 shuts off automatically when it overheats and cools down before restarting — this only occurs with very thick preparations such as dough. Use the tamper only with the lid fully seated. Before cleaning, unplug the blender and never submerge it in water.
  • how do I close it more easily?
    A tight fit is normal for a new Explorian lid. The surrounding sealing lip is firm at first, which is what makes it seal reliably. With use, the sealing lip will gradually adapt and the lid will become easier to fit.

    Warm the lid before fitting: Place the lid in warm to hot washing-up water for 1–2 minutes, then fit it to the container while it is still warm. When warm, the sealing lip is more pliable and passes over the rim of the container more easily. This is especially helpful during the initial period; once the lid has settled in, it is no longer necessary. Do not use boiling water.

    Alternatively, dishwasher — top rack only: If you clean the lid in the dishwasher, place it on the top rack. This is the position furthest from the heating element and offers the gentlest cleaning. Do not place it on the bottom rack.

Sehr gutes Gerät, nur der Deckel ist etwas schwer zu schließen.

Liebe Pia, vielen Dank für dein Feedback! Der etwas straffe Deckel ist bei einem neuen Explorian normal – die Dichtlippe passt sich mit der Nutzung an und lässt sich dann leichter schließen. In der Anfangszeit hilft es, den Deckel kurz in warmes Spülwasser zu legen und noch warm aufzusetzen (kein kochendes Wasser). Ich habe mir den Vitamix E310 im Juni 2026 gekauft und bin restlos begeistert. Ja, das Gerät ist etwas teurer, macht aber kompromisslos genau dass, was es soll. Es ist sehr gut verarbeitet, die Transportverpackung ist sehr gut und die Bedienung selbsterklärend. Bei der Lieferung gab es eine kleine Verzögerung, aber die Hotline war sofort erreichbar und hat unverzüglich geholfen. Ich bin begeistert!!
