Ginger-Turmeric Shot
Golden ginger-turmeric shot with orange and a pinch of pepper.
Instructions
-
1
Wash the ginger and fresh turmeric thoroughly and trim off the dry ends thinly. Organic roots can be used with the skin on. Cut into rough pieces. Tip: Wear disposable gloves with fresh turmeric, as it stains heavily.
-
2
Halve and juice the oranges and lemon until you have about 150 ml orange juice and 50 ml lemon juice. Remove the seeds.
-
3
Add the ginger, turmeric, orange juice, lemon juice, maple syrup, and peppercorns to the Vitamix container. Secure the lid and blend on the highest setting for about 60 seconds, until everything is broken down finely. Insert the tamper through the lid opening to guide the ginger and turmeric pieces reliably toward the blades.
-
4
Pour the shot through a coarse sieve if you like, or leave it with the pulp. Fill into a clean glass bottle, refrigerate, and enjoy within 5 to 7 days.
