Vitamix Explorian E310 High-Performance Blender
The Vitamix E310 is the pared-back high-performance blender in the Explorian series: manual control, a 1.4-litre container, made for 1–2-person households.
One motor, one dial, one Pulse switch — the entry point to the Explorian series for anyone who wants a reliable blender and prefers to control it themselves. With the 1.4 L Classic container, liquid preparations work from 250 ml, solid ones from approx. 400 ml — so even smaller quantities like pesto, hummus or nut butter stay in the right range. The variable speed control gives you full control over any consistency, and the Pulse feature lets you chop with precision. A 5-year manufacturer's warranty for household use applies.
Your benefits
- 1.4 L Classic container made from Tritan: designed for 1–4 servings, empties cleanly even with small quantities.
- 10 speeds + Pulse feature: adjust with variable control and add short power bursts exactly when you need them.
- Upgradeable: compatible with the 2.0 L low-profile Classic container for larger quantities.
- 5-year manufacturer's warranty: for household use.
- 3 colours: Black, Red and White.
How to use it
Three controls, no display, no programs — a tool, not a gadget. You start the blender with the toggle switch on the right and adjust the speed on the dial in the centre: variable from 1 to 10, so you hear and see what's happening. When you need short power bursts, hold the Pulse switch on the left for as long as you want them. That's all it takes.
Vitamix 1.4 L Classic container
The narrow 1.4 L container is designed for 1–4 servings and suits your daily morning smoothie, small soups or making nut butter. The vortex forms cleanly from as little as 250 ml of liquid; for firmer preparations like pesto or nut butter you need 400 ml — so even small quantities reach the blades reliably. The four blade wings pull a concentrated vortex downwards, carrying ingredients from the edge of the container back to the centre of the blades. This is a Classic container: compatible with all Explorian blenders, but not with the Ascent Interlock series or the Ascent X series.
Who it's for
The E310 is for you if you want a genuine Vitamix — without program settings, without a touchscreen. A speed dial and Pulse feature, nothing else. You blend 1–2 smoothies in the morning, and the odd soup or nut milk.

Not sure whether the E310 is the right one?
The E310 has the 10-speed dial and the Pulse feature, but no program settings. If you want those, the E510 has the same container size. See both side by side: E310 vs E510. Or start from scratch — find the right model in three steps.
A 5-year manufacturer's warranty for household use covers the motor base and all parts included in the box; your statutory rights remain unaffected (warranty terms).

FAQs
-
Which containers fit the Vitamix Explorian E310?
The Vitamix Explorian E310 uses the Classic mount system. The 1.4 L Classic container is included. Additional compatible containers: the 2.0 L Classic container (tall), the 2.0 L Low-Profile Classic container, and the Aer Disc container Classic. Interlock containers from the Ascent series are not compatible with the Explorian E310. -
What sets the Vitamix Explorian E310 apart from the Ascent series?
Both blender lines have a high-performance motor. The difference lies in controls, container system, and warranty: the E310 has a variable speed dial and toggle switch but no preset programs and no SELF-DETECT; it uses Classic containers. The Ascent series uses Interlock containers with SELF-DETECT and lid detection. The E310 carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty for household use; the Ascent A2500i and A3500i carry a 10-year warranty. -
What is the minimum blending quantity for the Vitamix Explorian E310?
In the included 1.4 L Classic container, the minimum quantity for the Vitamix Explorian E310 is approximately 250 ml for liquid preparations and approximately 400 ml for thick mixtures such as smoothies with frozen fruit. -
How hot can ingredients be in the Vitamix Explorian E310?
The Classic containers are made from Tritan and are heat-resistant up to 99 °C. The Vitamix Explorian E310 does not have an automatic Hot Soups program, but it can heat soups through the friction heat of the blades. With hot ingredients, you start on speed 1, as the user manual instructs, and slowly increase to 10. -
Can I grind grains or coffee with the Vitamix Explorian E310?
Grinding is only partially practical in the included 1.4 L Classic container — it is fitted with wet blades and is not optimized for dry grinding. For regular grinding of grains, coffee, or spices, a dedicated dry-grinding container or the Aer Disc container Classic is recommended. -
How do I clean the Vitamix Explorian E310?
Rinse the container with lukewarm water immediately after blending. For fatty ingredients (avocado, nuts, oil): fill the container halfway with lukewarm water, add 1–2 drops of dish soap, run the dial at the highest setting for about 60 seconds, then rinse. The Classic containers are dishwasher-safe; Vitamix recommends hand-washing to protect the Tritan material and blades. Wipe the motor base and rubber mat on top with a damp cloth. -
Is the container of the Vitamix Explorian E310 dishwasher-safe?
Yes, the 1.4 L Classic container of the Vitamix Explorian E310 is dishwasher-safe. However, Vitamix recommends hand-washing to protect the Tritan material and the blade assembly from long-term wear. The lid and lid plug are also hand-wash only. -
how do I close it more easily?
A tight fit is normal with a new lid. The surrounding sealing lip is firm at first, which is what makes it seal reliably. With use, the sealing lip adjusts over time, and the lid becomes easier to fit.
Warm the lid before fitting it: put the lid in warm to hot washing-up water for 1–2 minutes, then fit it onto the container while still warm. When warm, the sealing lip gives way more easily and slides over the container rim more easily. This helps mainly in the early period; once the lid has adjusted, it is no longer necessary. Do not use boiling water.
Alternatively, dishwasher – top rack only: if you clean the lid in the dishwasher, put it in the top rack. That is where the distance to the heating element is greatest and cleaning is gentlest. Do not put it in the bottom rack.
