Vitamix Ascent Interlock Series
Ascent Interlock: A2500i and A3500i with SELF-DETECT
With the Ascent Interlock series, the blender reads via an NFC chip which container is fitted — a 2.0 L, a dry grains container or an Aer Disc — and automatically adjusts the program runtime. This detection is called SELF-DETECT. It sets the Interlock series apart from the Classic system of the Explorian and Pro models, where you set the runtime yourself.
Interlock is this series' mounting system — hence the name. On this page you'll find everything that belongs with it: the high-performance blenders A2500i and A3500i, the Interlock containers from 1.4 to 2.0 litres including the dry grains container and Aer Disc, the S2 tamper, the Tamper Manager and the matching spare parts. Classic containers from the Explorian series don't fit mechanically on an Interlock motor, and the same applies the other way round — Interlock is the only closed container system in the Vitamix range.
Ten-year manufacturer's warranty for household use — the longest warranty period in the Vitamix range. Your statutory rights remain unaffected (warranty terms).
The comparison of both machines is in the buying guide. If you're still torn between the series, you'll also find Classic vs Interlock and the three-step path there.
